Dear Pleasant Valley Families,
Spring has officially arrived at Pleasant Valley Primary! With longer days, a little more sunshine, and the energy that comes with the changing season, our school is buzzing with learning and growth. This time of year is always exciting as students continue building skills, confidence, and independence in their classrooms.
Spring also brings many opportunities for learning, celebrations, and school events. As we head into the final months of the school year, our focus remains on strong instruction, supporting students academically and socially, and continuing to build a positive and safe school community.
A few spring reminders for families:
Outdoor Play: With the changing weather, please send students with layers and appropriate shoes for recess. We go outside whenever possible and it can get pretty muddy on rainy days.
Attendance Matters: Every day of learning is important as we continue building skills and preparing for the next grade level.
BRAVO at School and Home: Reinforcing our BRAVO expectations at home helps students stay consistent in making positive choices at school.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together we are helping our students grow into confident learners and caring community members.
The Golden Apple:
We are excited to launch a new way to celebrate the incredible staff who make Pleasant Valley Primary such a special place! Each week, we will recognize two outstanding staff members, classified and certificated who go above and beyond for our students, families, and school community.
Staff have opportunity to submit nominations, sharing stories of kindness, dedication, and impact. Each Thursday, we will review nominations and select a Golden Apple recipient to celebrate the following week.
The following staff members have received the Golden Apple this month. Liz Hernandez (BEA), Andrea Duzick (2nd Grade) , Hannah Vergeson (CBC) , Marina Heinz (4th Grade), Bre Woodhouse (TK), Jane Wooster (BEA).
News from PVP Health and Fitness/PE Teachers Mrs.Allinger and Mrs. Robb
Starting on Monday March 9 we will be celebrating heart health in PE. Along with this celebration we will be collecting donations for the American Heart Association.
In year’s past this celebration has been pretty big. We are simplifying our celebration this year. Students are encouraged to use the resources to learn more about heart health. Donations are purely voluntary.
We know how stretched families are. We realize that many families may also have other causes they donate to. If your family would like to join in and donate to the American Heart Association that is wonderful. If this is something you are not interested in right now, we respect that decision as well!
If this is something you are interested in, check your child’s backpack for the small flyer that will be sent home on the week of March 9. Thank You PVP Community!
Pleasant Valley Campus is turning 50! Help us plan for the celebration.
